A Perfect Pairing

As many of you know, I don't profess to be a wedding photographer. I have been asked on several occasions to photograph a wedding and I have always turned them down. When Margaret called to ask me to be her wedding photographer, I have to admit it would have been hard to say no. She was a former dance student of mine (in my former life when I was a professional dancer and jazz teacher) plus, I just adore her. Originally, this was going to be an 8 person wedding with lunch.  That sounded doable.  By the time all was said and done, it was a 50 person wedding being held at the Drake Hotel in Chicago.  So, i rolled with it and jumped in with both feet.

I was nervous and excited all at the same time.  This was a wedding with a lot of people and an official schedule and was bigger than anything I had photographed before.  So, I took a deep breath and off we went! I'm truly happy with how these images turned out and the moments of the day that we captured.  I give so much credit to everyone who was involved in the outdoor photos - especially the bride - as it was 30 degrees and oh so cold outside. Such a trooper she was!  You never would have known how cold it was outside.

Please enjoy the images that show some of my favorite moments throughout the day.  I wish all the best to this absolutely adorable couple who I couldn't be happier for! Thank you for trusting me with this truly special day.

What a day!  A perfect start to a lifetime of love, happiness and lots and lots of laughter!
Congratulations!

New Website! It's LIVE!

After almost three years in business (which will officially happen this May), I decided it was time to freshen things up a bit. So, voila! I have a new website!  This one not only has Flash, but also HTML and can be seen on mobile devices. Yay for that!  I've updated the site with my most recent work from this past year so, if you've been a client of mine, you just might see yourself.  Also on the new site, you can link to my Facebook Page and this Blog, via the 2 small buttons in the lower right hand corner when you visit one of the sites. Finally, for those of you curious about my Getty images, there is a link to my Getty page with the images of mine that are currently for sale.  I will be adding more images to Getty as I find the time to finish and upload additional releases. (Can anyone tell me where to find an extra 3 or 4 hours each day?)

If you click HERE, it will take you right to my site.  I'd love any feedback you have - positive or constructive. Feel free to leave it in the comments section below.

One  happy image to leave you with.  Remember the bud I posted on my last entry? This is what it looked like 2 days later. Oh how I'm loving this weather!

Happy Spring!

The Groundhog was right!

Oh how I love it when Spring starts to appear. It's shockingly early this year, with summer like temperatures in March. That seems a bit crazy but it's true!  Right now it's raining outside, which makes it rather cozy to be inside, and the bird are singing their little hearts out!  I know there's a chance we'll get another cold snap. However, I have to say, after this nondescript weather we've had, I just don't think it's very likely.

So, here is my first photo of Spring. Hope. Promise. New Life. And color! Lots and lots of color coming our way. It's like a photographer's candy store!

Happy Spring everyone!

So far so good

I can hardly believe it's March already.  How did that happen?  After this crazy winter we've had of basically no snow, I will admit I'm finally ready for Spring to arrive. I've finally given up hope of making a snowman or sledding with the kids this year.  With these 50 and 60 degree days that keep popping up here and there, I think it isn't too far off.

I've really enjoyed my Project 52 so far this year. You may have seen most of these images as I posted them in my stream each week but in case you didn't, here's a recap of the first 10.  More to come soon!
